"Calm & Wild" Lauren Verona speaks about self love on the Kim Morrison Podcast

Lauren explains to us the history of yoga and how it was the one discipline that saved her from her frantic corporate career and personal and mental health concerns. She shares how yoga taught her to love herself and find her true self. Lauren shares her meaning of self-love comes from one of the 10 guidelines of yoga – ahisma. The practice of ahisma allows everyone to live their own path rather than try to point out or make suggestions. Helping other people is not ahisma. You can hold space, love and support. But more importantly shine your own light and embody self-love. Lauren also discusses the power of discipline which is known as ‘tapas’ in sanskrit and the importance of rituals and to make time every day to flirt with discovering YOU and to trust the journey.

Laurens's Story

A Legacy of Love

Lauren discovered yoga while running a PR agency in Melbourne. It awakened her soul and changed her path forever. She went from student to full-time teacher in just months, eventually opening multiple studios across Australia and launching A Live Yogi—the country’s first live online yoga platform.

As a speaker, teacher, and community leader, Lauren inspired thousands. Her mission was simple but powerful: for everyone to experience the life-changing benefits of yoga. For her, yoga wasn’t something you do—it was something you are. Like water, it becomes essential to life.

Lauren’s life was marked by authenticity, joy, and a deep sense of service. In 2022, shortly after giving birth to her daughter Lucinda, Lauren tragically passed away due to a rare complication. Her spirit lives on through her daughters, her husband Ryan, and the Zenko community she so lovingly built.

Her dream was to help every person uncover their purpose and live fully, courageously, and with heart. Zenko Yoga continues this mission—helping you connect with your true self, one breath at a time.
